Privacy Policy

Effective November 5, 2026

Kindfold is built so that your ledger belongs to you. We do not run servers that store your ledger, we do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell or share your data.

Your ledger

Events, people, gifts, amounts, notes and envelope photos are stored on your iPhone. If iCloud is enabled, they are also synced to your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit. We cannot access this data. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's privacy policy.

Shared desks

If you invite helpers to a desk, the entries of that one event (names, amounts and notes) are shared with the people who join through your QR code, using Apple's iCloud sharing. Your other events and your list of people are never shared. You can end helpers' access at any time.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to confirm which purchases belong to your device. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and your purchase history from Apple; it does not receive your ledger. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Analytics

Kindfold does not currently collect analytics. If we enable anonymous usage counts in a future version (for example, "a desk was opened"), they will never include names, amounts, notes or anything you type, will not be linked to you, and this policy will be updated first.

Notifications, camera and Face ID

Reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone. The camera is used only when you choose to photograph an envelope. Face ID is handled by iOS; Kindfold never receives biometric data.

Children

Kindfold is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Deleting your data

Delete the app to remove data from your iPhone. To remove synced data, delete it in the app before uninstalling, or remove Kindfold's data in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage.
